Eligibility/Requirements

Middle School Explorations

  • Have completed grade 6, 7, or 8 as of Summer 2017
  • Complete an online or paper application to the program
  • Possess an interest in discovery-based learning

Pre-College Explorations

  • Have completed grade 9, 10, or 11 as of Summer 2017
  • Complete an online or paper application to the program
  • Possess an interest in discovery-based learning

Junior Women in Engineering (JWIE)

  • For women only
  • Have completed grade 6, 7, or 8 as of Summer 2017
  • Submit the JWIE application
  • Submit transcript, teacher recommendation, and answers to short answer questions

Although there is no minimum GPA requirement, strong academic performance is vital to acceptance. Extracurricular activity, volunteering, and demonstrated interest in engineering are desired.

Women in Engineering (WIE)
Women in Automotive Engineering (WIAE)
Women in Computer Science (WiCS)

  • For women only
  • Have completed grade 9, 10, or 11 as of Summer 2017
  • Submit the appropriate application for WIE, WAE, or WiCS
  • Submit transcript, teacher recommendation, and answers to short answer questions

Engineering Scholars Program (ESP)
National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI)
Rail and Intermodal Transportation (RIT)

  • Submit the appropriate application for ESP, NSTI, or RIT
  • Submit transcript, teacher recommendation, and answers to short answer questions
