Residence Hall

Students who attend Summer Youth Programs get the awesome opportunity to stay on campus in Michigan Tech's largest residence hall, Wadsworth Hall. Wadsworth Hall features a dining hall, laundry facilities (minimal fee), a recreation room, and a television lounge where students can hang out during their free time. Counselors also live in the halls to provide evening supervision and to direct fun activities and programming.

Rooming

The living community is divided by gender, and we do our best to match participants with a roommate who is close in age, but from a different place. We encourage participants to broaden their horizons and room with someone new!

Some participants may request to room with a friend, and we try to honor these requests whenever possible. If you wish to room with someone, both of you must request each other on your Confirmation Packet forms. If you request to room with a friend, but your friend does not request you, you will not be placed together, and it will not be possible to switch rooms once you arrive.

Recreation

We get asked one question a lot: What will we do in the evenings?

The better question: what don't we do! Our full-time counseling staff plans and leads so many great evening and weekend activities that you won't have time to be bored. Recreational rooms and lounges in the residence hall are equipped with television, pool tables, table tennis, board games, playing cards, and air hockey. Feel free to bring your own movies, as long as they are labeled with your name and rated PG. A few activities have a minimal charge, like going for ice cream or to the movies, but most are free!

Here is a brief list of possible activities:

See a movie
