Since 1972, Summer Youth Programs (SYP) at Michigan Tech has offered students in grades 6-11 a variety of hands-on explorations focused on the needs of tomorrow. Our high-impact educational experiences provide an opportunity for students to experience college in a fun, engaging, and safe environment.  

Our counselors help shape the student experience, providing mentorship, leadership, and support. We hire for a variety of counselor roles in both full-time and part-time positions. Position benefits include:

  • Wages ranging from $11 - $12.50/hr based on position and experience
  • Part and full-time positions (see descriptions below)
  • Meals during shifts
  • Housing in Wadsworth Hall (private, single room for live-in positions only)
  • Paid training

Summer 2024 dates of employment are June 10th through July 26th.
